As we all know, our scrappy hometown Washington Nationals were once the Montreal Expos. Expos legend Gary Carter, who is also one of the members of the Nats’ Ring of Honor (and in your humble editor’s opinion, one of the best, most joyous and most fun-loving players in the history of baseball), lost his battle with brain cancer yesterday at the age of 57. Federal Baseball pays tribute to the man known as The Kid.

Follow your moon, and good things will happen. Thanks for the perspective, notarunner.

A big DCBlogs congratulations to I Want to Sing Like Sarah “Sassy” Vaughan!

Hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day, no matter how you chose to spend it!

As a non-V-Day palate cleanser, how about some VERY NSFW laughs regarding Scary Mommy’s amusing workaround for her phone’s autocorrect?

Now here’s a phenomenal way to keep spreading the love. Prince of Petworth points out that today is Adams Morgan Random Acts of Kindness Day. Even if you can’t make it to the neighborhood, I think that’s something we can all get behind no matter where we are in the metro area.

No matter the season, romantic comedies are everywhere. So much so that even non-fans of the genre (ahem, like your humble editor) can recognize the stock character types. Not Enough Tequila brings us a rousing sendup of the 6 basic ingredients of a “rom-com.”

Maybe it’s a day late, but who doesn’t love a good playlist? Thanks, Fuzzy Logic, for this all-emotionally-encompassing mix in honor of yesterday’s festivities.
